Job Title:AVP, Commercial UnderwritingLocation:Carmel ValleyWhat
you'll do:The Commercial Underwriter will work within the newly
established Portfolio Risk Management (PRM) Team to support the
management of PRM Credits within the newly established PRM Program.
The PRM Program is a uniform and efficient loan portfolio
management and monitoring process for specific loans the Bank has
deemed to have a lower risk profile. The Commercial Underwriter
will be assigned a portfolio of PRM Credits and will be responsible
for supporting the Primary Officer's portfolio management efforts.
Primary objectives include, but are not limited to, protecting the
Bank's asset quality through quick and effective portfolio
management by identifying, escalating, and addressing credit issues
promptly, satisfactorily, and pursuant to the Bank's lending
policies and procedures. In addition to portfolio monitoring, the
Commercial Underwriter will be responsible for analyzing,
structuring, underwriting, and coordinating the closing of C&I
and CRE loans pursuant to the Bank's lending policies and
procedures.What we are looking for:
- Monitoring and addressing Portfolio Risk Advisor alerts
(deteriorating credit scores, bankruptcies, past due payments,
etc.) in Baker Hill NextGen
- Collecting financial statements
- Processing and reviewing financial spreads and covenant
tests
- Identifying, escalating, and addressing defaults or other
credit issues
- Monitoring a loan's risk grade and changing when needed
- Communicating with Borrowers and Guarantors
- Preparing credit memos ("Loan Presentations" or "Administrative
Action Memos") to originate, renew, or modify commercial
credit
- Delivering exceptional customer serviceWhat you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university degree,
preferably in Finance or Accounting and a minimum of 5 years
Commercial underwriting experience at a financial institution, or
an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced credit knowledge and underwriting skills.
- Intermediate to Advanced experience, knowledge and training in
financial statement and tax return analysis typically resulting
from a combination of education in accounting, financial and/or
credit analysis or related areas.Compensation: Salary range for new
hires is generally $1,073,950.00 - $126,345.00 for San Diego, CA.
Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition,
the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and
