Avidity is broadening the reach of AOCs with its advancing and expanding pipeline, including programs in cardiology and immunology through internal discovery efforts and key partnerships.The OpportunityWe are seeking a Scientist/Associate Scientist to join our team in San Diego. This hands-on position is responsible for designing, synthesizing, and analyzing antibody oligonucleotide conjugates. The ideal candidate will have biotech/pharma experience in medicinal chemistry, bioconjugation, and nucleic acid therapeutics. The candidate is expected to be a strong team player who enjoys scientific discovery and can communicate and collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment.What You Will Contribute

• Design, synthesis, purification, and analysis of oligonucleotides, linkers, and protein/peptide/antibody conjugates.
• Implement lead optimization strategies to advance AOCs into development.
• Preparation and communication of research results in both oral and written formats.What We Seek
  • Title depending on experience. Scientist level: Minimum PhD in biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related discipline, with minimum of 0-3 years of experience or M.S./B.S degree with 10+ years of industry experience. Associate Scientist level: Minimum M.S./B.S with minimum of 6+ years of experience.
  • Experience in HPLC purification and analytical methods for proteins and oligonucleotides.
  • Experience with AKTA and unicorn software is preferred.
  • Experience with oligonucleotides and targeted delivery is preferable.
  • Previous experience in biotech/pharma is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve chemistry problems.
  • Proven ability to conduct self-directed research and to work effectively in a dynamic environment with a diverse team of co-workers.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills, enthusiasm, integrity, self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail are necessary.What We Will Provide to You:
    • The base salary range for this role is $98,000 - $136,000. The final compensation will be commensurate with relevant experience, skillset, internal equity, and market factors.
